Manuscript Submission Guidelines
The International Journal of Tourism Sciences publishes articles examining tourism, leisure, and recreation. The Journal includes atricles, research notes, book review, commentary, and reports.
Relevant manuscripts are welcome and should be submitted as e-mail attachments to editor, Dr. Yeong-Hyeon Hwang (dryeong@dau.ac.kr). The attached file should be in MS Word format. The attached file should include the entire manuscript in one file, with the cover page (title, author names, affiliations, and both snail and e-mail addresses), abstract page (title, abstract, and 5-6 keywords), body, references, and acknowledgement.

· Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation, and Inconsistencies :
Authors should take all the reponsiblity for preparing manuscrip that is clearly written in acceptable, scholarly English, and which contains no errors of spelling, grammar, or punctuation.
· Original Atricles Only :
Submission of a manuscript to this Journal represents a certification on the part of the author(s) that it is an original work, and that neither this manuscript nor a version of it has been published elsewhere nor is being considered for publication elsewhere.
· Evaluation :
All manuscripts published in the Journal are double-blind, peer-reviewed by accomplished scholars in the topical area. Evaluation criteria include originality of theme/outcome, research method relevancy, appropriateness of literature review, validity of the conclusions, contribution to the discipline and communicability (readability, grammar, and clarity)
· Entitlement of Contribution :
All contributors, except overseas scholars, shound have membership status in the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea. Membership inquiries should be sent to the Editor or Society Office (http://www.tosok.or.kr)
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
To expedite the review process, all manuscipts must be prepared according the following foramt typed by MS-Word. Manuscripts should be divided into logical parts such as an Introduction, Theoretical Review, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. References, citations, and general style of manuscripts for this Journal are advised to follow APA sytle.
· Manuscript Length :
Paper must be typed and formatted for A4 size (210 x 297 mm) and should be between 15-25 typed pages in double spaced including references, illustratons, and appendices.
· Cover Page :
A separate title page should include the paper title, all authors’ name, affilications, e-mail/mailing addresses, telephone and fax numbers for correspondence.
· Biographical Note :
A short bio-note (no exceeding 60 words) about author(s) should be provided in a separate page following the cover page. Times New Roman and font 12 is the preferred typeface.
· Abstract and Keywords :
On the next page, the abstract between 110-120 words should state consisely the research problems, methods, and findings with a list of keywords (5-6 words) pertinent to the central theme. Times New Roman and font 12 is the preferred typeface.
· Text :
All parts of the manuscript should be Double spaced with 5-spaced paragraph indentation. Use the defaut margin (Upper, Bottom: 2.54cm, left and right: 3.17cm). Not footnotes, except for explanatory purpose, should be included.
· Headings & Sub-headings :
The text should be subdividied with titled headings, preceded by Introduction and succeeded by Conclusions. No number headings. First headings: Times New Roman, font 12, bold face, and Uppercase. Second headings: Times New Roman, font 12, bold face, and Lowercase. Third headings: Times New Roman, font 12, Lowercase, and italic.
· Tables, Figures and Illustrations :
Each table, figure and illustration must be prepared on a separate page, and its location should be referred (e.g. [Insert Table 1 about here]) in the text. Illustrations must be ‘camera-ready.’ That is, they must be cleanly typed or artistically prepared so that they can be used either exactly as they are or else used after a photographic reduction in size. All figures are advised to draw in MS-Powerpoint of MS-Office program. Tables must be succinct for readers to understand the contents easily. Except for inevitable cases, do not use vertical (column) line. Sources must be addressed below the Table. If necessary, not that explains the body of the table should be below the sources. Arial, fort 10 is the prefered typeface for the contents of tables and figures.
· References :
All ferences should follow the APA styles.

Guide for Research Note, Reports and Book Review
International Journal of Tourism Sciences invites Research Note and Reports that involve brief theoretical and empirical contributions. The contributions are encouraged to deal with topics and issues in tourism studies such as ongoing research concepts and methods, untested propositions or hypotheses, and models, or applications of tools from other fields.
The contributions should be dividied into logical parts such as an Introduction, theoretical Review, Methods, Results, and Discussion. However, research notes have neither an abstracts nor subheadings like full papers. The sytle of research notes should follow the guidelines of International Journal of Tourism Sciences but the length should not be more than 10 typed pages in double spaced A4 size sheet, including references, illustrations, and appendices.
The receipt of a submission will be acknowledged by the editor after the blind review by at least one reviewer in the topocal area.
Book reviews should also be sent to and be acknowledged by the editor.
